The Seven Trees Neighborhood Association works to advocate, organize, and inform the Seven Trees community. The Seven Trees Neighborhood Association has hosted candidate forums, block parties, and National Night Out events all in an effort to strengthen our community. We have recently completed our biggest project by painting a 350 ft mural at the Seven Trees Community Center. We feel that when communities are filled with beautiful vibrant people and our space should reflect that.

That's why the Seven Trees Neighborhood Association started "Project Kooltura"! We saw a lack of public art and murals outside of downtown as well as the erasure historic murals across San Jose. We decided that we wouldn't stand by as our city changed and embarked on our journey to paint a mural. As a community group we wanted to beautify our community with a mural but struggled to for years to get the project off the ground. We documented the entire process and developed a Public Art Tool Kit and Community Leadership Training to support other community groups in the process of implementing their own public art project.

Project Kooltura aims to work with community groups to build the capacity and skills necessary not just to implement a public art project but to also advocate, organize, and make change in their communities. With your support we can complete the finishing touches of our 350 foot mural painted by local artist Este Huizar at the Seven Trees Community Center and create other projects.

All donations are tax-deductible go towards funding the painting of the mural, an artist fee, materials and supplies, feeding volunteers, and a community celebration. Any additional funds will go towards future community events and beautification projects in Seven Trees.
