San Jose Parks Foundation Honors Parks Heroes - August 10

San Jose Parks Foundation's Annual Event to Honor truly remarkable Parks & Trails Heroes

San Jose Parks Foundation has re-named its Annual Fundraising Event (previously known as the Summer Soiree). This prestigious gathering of Parks Supporters, Luminaries, Mayors, Councilmembers and various Celebrities has been appropriately re-named The San Jose Parks Foundation Honors and is scheduled to be held at Veggielution (in Emma Prusch Park) on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

This year's amazing honorees: The Veggielution Team, Shiloh Ballard and Ed Solis

This event has always been and remains a celebration of genuine heroes of San Jose's Parks & Trails. This year, three Honorees will be presented with Awards. They are: The Veggielution Team, which includes staff, volunteers, patrons and supporters who have established and maintained this unique urban farm; Shiloh Ballard, who is in her final year as the Executive Director of the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC), which she has led for several years with energy, creativity and strength; and, Ed Solis, known far and wide as the Creator of Viva CalleSJ, the revolutionary Open Streets Event, but who is retiring from his years of distinguished service to the Department of Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services.

The Parks Foundation Honors features excellent food, drinks, friendship and fun in celebration of the people who make San Jose's Parks & Trails the wonderful community treasures that they are... And, we once again feature our Special Celebrity Guest Bartender, Sal Pizarro.
