We have re-scheduled and the Summer Soiree is happening! Join us!
The Summer Soiree 2022 presented by Google is the annual fundraising event for San Jose Parks Foundation. The event will take place at the Community Mural Pocket Park [at 2nd Street and Hedding] in San Jose. This is a very unique park and is the product of three different neighborhoods working together to design, plan, fund and complete it.
Our annual Summer Soiree is an opportunity for San Jose Parks Foundation to honor some genuine community heroes, in this case the three women volunteers who organized the creation of this amazing neighborhood park - Victoria Taketa, Kathleen Perkins and Antonina Ettare.
One of the wonderful features of the mural is that the artist included the faces of children who live in the neighborhood, creating a truly community-based work of art. Mural Artist Lacey Bryant worked with neighborhood children to create the faces celebrated on the wall.
San Jose Parks Foundation created a Fiscal Sponsorship that helped in the process and aided fundraising, but the hard work was done by these three volunteers.

The Summer Soiree is an intimate gathering of neighbors, community leaders and people who support the mission of San Jose Parks Foundation, which is to empower and guide and steward the work of "true community heroes" throughout San Jose's 200+ parks and 56+ miles of trail. There will be a light dinner buffet and and plenty of beverages and a brief program. Join us! Support these heroes. Help us to support more heroes.
