Summer Soiree 2017

June 22, 2017 @ 5:30PM — June 26, 2017 @ 7:30PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)

San Jose Parks Foundation's annual fundraising event, the 2017 Summer Soiree, is an intimate evening of parks and trails supporters coming together to honor some of the true heroes of San Jose Parks. This year we will honor the PRNS Flood Response Team for the amazing work this team did during and after the emergency. Delicious food and refreshing beverages accompany a unique conversational gathering just as summer begins. The Summer Soiree will be held at Veggielution.

Join us for our 3rd Annual Summer Soiree at Veggielution, located at the back of Emma Prusch Farm Park at 647 South King Road. We have previously held the event at the Tea House in Kelley Park, but recent flooding damaged it and we have moved to this new venue.

San Jose Parks Foundation invites you to join other like-minded supporters for an early summer evening of celebration and recognition of some of the true heroes of our parks and trails. Hors D'oeuvres, wine, and dessert will be served.

We will be honoring the truly amazing response teams of San Jose's Department of Parks Recreation & Neighborhood Services (PRNS) during the flooding emergency that took place early this year. PRNS staff helped save animals from flooding at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, saved many of the Koi at the Japanese Friendship Garden and opened Community Centers as temporary homeless shelters for people tragically displaced from their homes.

Sponsored by Vice Mayor Magdalena Carrasco, Councilmember Donald Rocha, Councilmember Raul Peralez, CouncilmemberTam Nguyen, Councilmember Chappie Jones, Trademark Staffing, Kathy Sutherland, John & Marisol Leyba, The Mary Laurene Reber Trust and Jean-Marie White.

In our very brief history San Jose Parks Foundation has had a significant impact on our community - building new playgrounds, engaging thousands of volunteers, doing valuable environmental work and supporting a variety of community organizations. This event is a major way we fund our ongoing operations.
